The core of the Global Health Committee’s (GHC) approach—delivering desperately needed care today, while pursing basic research aimed at discovering tomorrow’s cures—is highlighted in a feature story in the August issue of the Harvard Medical School news magazine Focus. The story shows how laboratory studies in immunology carried out in the Boston lab of GHC co-founder and HMS associate professor Anne Goldfeld, MD, are inspired by and in turn inform the GHC’s efforts to find sustainable solutions to HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.
